When you use Rideit, you entrust us with your personal information. We are dedicated to maintaining that trust, which begins with our commitment to transparency and understanding about our privacy practices.

This notice outlines the types of personal information (“information”) we gather, its uses and sharing, and your options regarding this information. We encourage you to read this document alongside our privacy overview, which emphasizes key points about our privacy practices, including summaries of the information we collect and its utilization.

II. Overview

A. Scope This notice pertains to users of Rideit’s applications, websites, and other services within the United States. It details how Rideit and its affiliated entities collect and use information. This notice is applicable to all Rideit users in the United States, except for those utilizing services governed by a distinct privacy notice. Specifically, this notice covers: Riders: individuals who request or receive transportation and related services through their Rideit account. Drivers: individuals providing transportation to Riders either independently through their Rideit account or via partner transportation companies. Order Recipients: those requesting or receiving food or other goods and services for delivery or pickup through their Rideit account. This includes users utilizing guest checkout features to access delivery or pickup services without creating or logging into an account. Delivery Personnel: individuals who carry out delivery services via Rideit. Guest Users: individuals without a Rideit account who receive ride and delivery services ordered by Rideit account holders, including services arranged by Rideit Health, Rideit Central, Rideit Direct, or Rideit for Business customers (collectively, “Enterprise Customers”); or by friends, family, or other individual account holders; and gift card recipients. This notice also encompasses Rideit’s additional data collections related to its services. For instance, we may gather contact details of restaurant or merchant employees or owners on the Rideit platform; contact information of those managing and using accounts owned by Enterprise Customers; or information from individuals who initiate but do not complete applications to become drivers or delivery personnel. All individuals covered under this notice are referred to as “users”. Our privacy practices adhere to the laws of the regions where we operate. This means we only engage in the practices described in this notice if they are allowed under the laws of those regions. Furthermore, it’s important to note the following: Rideit may disclose user personal information to third parties for personalized advertising on apps, websites, or other properties owned by Rideit or other companies. Under certain laws, such disclosures might be considered “sales” or “sharing” of personal information. Users in the United States may opt out of these practices below. Opting out means Rideit will not share your personal information with third parties for the purpose of targeted advertising.

III. Data collections and uses

A. The data we collect Rideit collects data: provided by users to Rideit created during the use of our services from other sources For a summary of the data we collect and how we use it, please refer to the relevant sections below. Rideit collects the following data from these sources: Data provided by users. This encompasses: Account information: When users create or update their Rideit accounts, or place orders through guest checkout features, we collect information such as first and last name, email, phone number, login name and password, address, profile picture, payment or banking information (including payment verification information), user settings, and loyalty program details for Rideit partners. For drivers and delivery personnel, this also includes vehicle or insurance details, emergency contact information, and health or fitness evidence to use Rideit apps. Background check information (for drivers and delivery personnel): This comprises information like driver history or criminal record (where law permits), license status, aliases, previous addresses, and right to work, collected during the application process, often via Rideit service providers. Identity verification documents and photos: Including government-issued IDs (driver’s licenses or passports) and user-submitted photos (selfies, profile pictures), which may contain identification numbers, date of birth, and gender details. Demographic data: We gather data such as birth date/age, gender, or occupation to enable specific features or access to age-restricted services. This includes collecting date of birth for verifying eligibility for Rideit Cash or when purchasing age-restricted products. We also infer gender information for users preferring services from female or non-binary providers. User content: Includes data (chat logs, call recordings) when users contact Rideit support, provide ratings or feedback, use upload features, or contact Rideit in other ways. Data created during use of our services. This includes: Location data: We collect precise and approximate location data from mobile devices of drivers and delivery personnel when the Rideit app is active. For riders and order recipients, we collect location information if they permit us through device settings. Transaction information: Related to service usage, including service types, trip/order details (date, time, addresses, distance, items ordered), and transaction details (merchant name, amount, payment method). Usage data: How users interact with our services, including access times, app features viewed, browser types, and system activity. Device data: Information about the devices used to access our services, such as hardware models, device IP addresses, operating systems, software, languages, and mobile network data. Communications data: Data on user communications enabled through Rideit apps, including communication type, date/time, and content. Data from other sources. These include: Referral program participants, service requests on behalf of other users, claims or disputes information. Business partners for account creation/access, such as payment providers, social media services, or apps/websites using Rideit’s APIs. Service providers aiding in identity verification, fraud detection, and regulatory compliance checks. Insurance, vehicle, or financial service providers for drivers/delivery personnel. Publicly available sources, marketing partners, and law enforcement or government authorities. B. How we use data Rideit employs data to facilitate reliable and convenient transportation, delivery, and additional products and services. Rideit uses the data collected in the following ways: To provide our services. Rideit leverages data to offer, personalize, maintain, and enhance our services. This involves using data to: Create or update accounts. Enable transportation, delivery, and other services/features, such as navigating to pick-up and drop-off locations, calculating ETAs, and tracking rides or deliveries. Match drivers and delivery personnel with users requesting services, based on personal data (e.g., location, user preferences) and non-personal data (e.g., vehicle type). Calculate pricing and fares using location data and trip/order details. Process payments and facilitate payment products. Personalize user accounts with recommendations based on past orders and locations. Facilitate insurance, vehicle, invoicing, or financing solutions. Provide updates, generate receipts, and inform about changes to our terms, services, or policies. Perform operations necessary to maintain our services. Safety, fraud protection, and security. We use data to ensure the safety, security, and integrity of our services and users by: Verifying user accounts and identities. Using customer service information, device data, and other data types to identify and prevent unsafe driving or fraudulent activity. Using reported incidents, user ratings, and feedback to enforce safe use of the Rideit platform. Avoiding potentially risky pairings of users. Providing live support during trips or deliveries for safety concerns. Customer support. Information collected is used to provide customer support, including to investigate and address concerns and monitor and improve our support processes. Research and development. Data is utilized for analysis, machine learning, product development, and testing to enhance the convenience, safety, and security of our services, and to develop new features and services. Enabling communications between users. For instance, drivers and riders may need to communicate for pick-up coordination, or a delivery person may need to contact an order recipient regarding their order. Marketing and Advertising. Rideit uses data to market its services and those of our partners, personalizing ads and marketing communications based on users' locations, interests, and behaviors. Non-marketing communications. Rideit may use data to send surveys and other non-marketing communications, including information regarding political processes relevant to our services. Legal proceedings and requirements. Data is used to address claims or disputes related to the use of Rideit's services, comply with legal requirements, and respond to legal processes or government requests. C. Cookies and third-party technologies Rideit and its partners use cookies and other identification technologies on our apps, websites, emails, and online advertisements for purposes outlined in this notice, as well as in Rideit’s Cookie Notice. Cookies are small text files stored on browsers or devices by websites, apps, online media, and advertisements. Rideit utilizes cookies and similar technologies to: Authenticate users Remember user preferences and settings Determine content popularity Deliver and measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns Analyze site traffic and trends, and generally understand the online behaviors and interests of people who interact with our services We also permit third parties to provide audience measurement and analytics services for us, serve ads on our behalf across the internet, and track and report on the performance of those ads. These entities may use cookies, web beacons, SDKs, and other technologies to identify devices used by visitors to our websites and when they visit other online sites and services. For more detailed information on the use of cookies and other technologies described in this section, please refer to our Cookie Notice. D. Data sharing and disclosure Rideit’s services and features necessitate that we share data with other users, or upon users' request or with their consent. Data may also be shared with our affiliates, subsidiaries, partners, for legal reasons, or in connection with claims or disputes. Rideit may share data: With other users, including: Riders' first names, ratings, and pick-up/drop-off locations with drivers. Order recipients' first names, delivery addresses, and order details with restaurants or merchants and delivery personnel. For drivers and delivery personnel, we share details like name, photo, vehicle information, location, ratings, and feedback with riders or order recipients. At users’ request or with users’ consent, including sharing with: Other individuals as per a user's request. Business partners, in case of services requested through a partnership or promotional offering. Emergency services for features enabling data sharing in emergencies. Insurance companies for processing claims related to Rideit's services. With Rideit subsidiaries and affiliates to assist in providing our services or conducting data processing on our behalf. With Rideit service providers and business partners, including payment processors, marketing partners, research partners, and others who help us enhance the safety, security, and functionality of our services. For legal reasons or in the event of a dispute, including sharing data with law enforcement, public health officials, other government authorities, or in legal proceedings. With consent, Rideit may share users' data beyond the scenarios described in this notice if we notify users and they agree to the sharing. E. Data retention and deletion Rideit retains user data for as long as necessary for the purposes outlined previously. Users can request the deletion of their account through Rideit apps and websites. Rideit retains user data based on the type of data, the category of user it pertains to, the purposes for which the data was collected, and legal retention requirements. For instance: Data necessary for service provision is retained for the duration of the user's account, such as account information. Data necessary for tax compliance, like drivers' and delivery personnel's trip or delivery location information, is retained for 7 years. Data for safety or fraud prevention purposes is retained for specified periods, such as keeping incomplete driver applications for 1 year and rejected applications for 7 years. Users can request account deletion via the Privacy settings in the Rideit app or through Rideit’s website (for different user categories like riders, order recipients, drivers, and delivery persons). Upon a deletion request, we remove the user's account and data except when retention is necessary for safety, security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or due to unresolved issues related to the user's account (e.g., outstanding credits or unresolved claims/disputes). For drivers and delivery personnel, some data may be retained as necessary for tax, litigation, or insurance claims. For riders and order recipients, we generally delete data within 90 days of a deletion request, except where retention is necessary for the reasons mentioned above.

IV. Choice and transparency

Rideit provides users with access and control over the data we collect, including through: Privacy settings Device permissions In-app ratings pages Marketing and advertising choices Requests for data access, changes, or deletion Users can manage their preferences regarding location data collection/sharing, emergency data sharing, and notifications through the Privacy settings in the Rideit app or Privacy Center online. For location data, users can enable/disable the collection of their mobile device location data through their device settings. They can also control the sharing of their real-time location data with drivers or delivery personnel as needed. For emergency data sharing, riders can enable the sharing of their real-time location data with emergency services, including approximate location, vehicle information, and other relevant details through their privacy settings. Rideit notifies users about trip status and account activity as part of our service, with the option for users to choose how they receive these notifications. Users can also control whether they receive marketing communications and manage their data sharing preferences with third parties. Additionally, Rideit enables users to access, download, or delete their data, update their account information, and manage consent through various features and settings in our apps, website, and Privacy Center. Users can object to or request restrictions on our data processing and have the right to file complaints with data protection authorities in their jurisdiction.

V. Legal information

A. Data controllers and Data Protection Officer Rideit Technologies Inc. is the controller of the data processed in connection with the use of Rideit’s services globally, except where it operates as a joint controller with other Rideit affiliates. Specific arrangements include: Rideit Technologies Inc. and certain affiliates might be joint controllers for the data of users in specific regions or for specific services, adhering to local legal and regulatory requirements. Users can submit requests regarding their data rights (for riders, order recipients, drivers, and delivery persons) through designated channels provided by Rideit. Users may also contact Rideit's Data Protection Officer via a provided link or by mail to a specified address for issues relating to the processing of their personal data and their data protection rights. B. Legal Framework for Data Transfers Rideit operates globally, which involves processing user data in countries that may have different data protection laws than the user's home country, including the United States. Rideit commits to protecting users' personal data regardless of where it is processed. This includes: Implementing measures to secure data during transit and at rest. Providing company-wide privacy and data security training. Limiting access to and use of users' data. Restricting government and law enforcement access to user data to necessary instances, adhering to legal requirements or imminent safety threats.
